Alaska

We just returned from our trip to Alaska. We were in Homer for cousin Kaity and Owen's wedding and then spent the last few days at Aunt Betty and Uncle David's cabin in Big Lake. Here are a few highlights from our trip...

We had lunch at the Mooses Tooth in Anchorage before driving down to Homer.

The drive to Homer was beautiful and we made a few pit stops to check out the scenery.


We went halibut fishing in Homer and came home with tons of fresh halibut to eat. We dropped our lines 200 feet into the ocean using two pound weights. I was totally exhausted and sore by the end from reeling up the line over and over, but it was an absolute blast! We even caught cod and a few sting rays. One of Ben's sting ray catches took over 30 minutes to reel up to the surface.

After the wedding, we went to Aunt Betty and Uncle David's cabin at Big Lake. We hiked on the Matanuska Glacier and spent the evenings at the firepit. Will was a trooper and slept in a drawer - I just had to get it on camera!

William and his parents (!) were very fortunate and got to go to Game 7 of the NBA Finals. What an experience - the Lakers won and we got to watch the celebration unfold at the Staples Center! William did great - he slept through half the game. We'll have to remind him of that in a few years:)

William's 1st Giggle

William got a case of the giggles the other day when I put him in front of the mirror. It was the first time we've heard him laugh, and we were lucky to get it on camera!

First Flight to Kansas!

William went on his first plane ride to Kansas to meet all of his cousins. We had a great trip and were sad the trip had to end! Here are a few memories from our trip.
